Participants will be provided with a TI-84 CE calculator that we will program (code) together. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! We will create two programs – one very basic program that utilizes input, output, and simple calculations. The second program contains how to create “counters” and “loops” and why they are fundamental to programming. Participants will be provided with materials that will assist teachers to instruct their students how to code. They will also be provided with a website that allows students and teachers to learn coding interactively at their own pace! Use either BASIC or PYTHON language. Participants will also be provided with a list of simple program ideas to assign to students that relate coding and mathematics.
