Teaching Inverses of Functions/Relations – Creative Clever Technology Ideas You Have Not Used … YET!

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Participants will learn how to implement graphing technology in creative ways so that students can discover how to create inverses of relations and what properties they have: graphs are reflections about the line y = x, use the vertical line feature to decide if the graph is a function or not, use lists to quickly create and see graphs of relations and their inverses, use the draw inverse command to visualize the inverse of ANY function, compose a function and its inverse and obtain the identity function, We will also use tables to verify what it means to be an inverse. We will use parametric equation graphs to easily create the inverse of ANY function. Students will be able to graph y = cos(x), its inverse as a relation and as a function.
