Histograms are here to stay in 7th Grade; however, there are important changes that impact instruction. In this session, we will dive into the 2023 Standard of Learning 7.PS.2 – “The student will apply the data cycle (formulate questions; collect or acquire data; organize and represent data; and analyze data and communicate results) with a focus on histograms.” We will examine the changes to the standard and how they impact instruction, learn more about histograms as powerful data representations, and consider how technology can help our students create and explore histograms as they apply the data cycle.
