How can we ensure that all students can meaningfully engage in grade-level math? This session explores two principles of equitable math engagement: 1) representing all students in math problems helps students see themselves in their daily learning and 2) asking ‘friendly questions’ as on-ramps to complex problems builds student engagement and helps all students.
